    Neighbor’s Help

    Anonymous 9/26/25

This week I asked my manager at my senior complex if I could hand out a flier about asking my neighbors for coats and jackets and some clothes too. What a great bunch, with their help these items are still coming in. The seniors are clearing their closets. We have 2 more large bags of coats, jackets and mainly women's wear mainly, my complex has more women than men. I’m so grateful to my manager who even printed the paper up, and to the outpouring of generous donations from the residents.

    Helping Hand

    Melinda 9/20/25

I had two opportunities that popped on my radar this week. The first, I left class with my instructor, when she noticed she had missed her bus. I didn't know her well, so hesitated, but decided to offer her a ride, and she said yes. She moved to Petaluma from Haiti two years ago and it was really nice to have the bonus time to talk more and build a bit of a friendship. The second, when I was getting a grocery cart a man called from the sidewalk curb to me for help with opening some Advil medicine for his sciatica pain. It was actually pretty hard to open for me too! It doesn't take a lot of time to let someone else know you care about them.

    Pay it Forward

I submitted application to be a counselor with the Verity organization in Santa Rosa. Verity provides counseling and assistance to victims of sexual abuse. I am sending the blessing for this week forward to a time when I can help those in need.

    Joy & Grief

    Anonymous 9/17/25

My friends had to put down their family dog this week, which was very emotional. I invited them over for dinner in the garden, for a little breathing space, and when they hopped out of the car, one of our ranch dogs came up to the fence to greet them. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to say, but that dog in his own way soothed something in them. I was glad we could be together in the joy and grief.

    Gift Boxes From My Garden

A lovely neighbor in my “buy nothing” Facebook group was looking for tomatoes, so I blessed her with this box of tomatoes, a zucchini, a spider plant (all from my garden) and a loaf of sourdough bread.

PS: I love blessing others from my garden. Fun fact, I am part of “The Deviled Eggery” in Petaluma, and I grow in my small front and back yard garden to donate to Una Vida, this is my 3rd year. Everyone can donate to Una Vida!

I also Love to bless others in the community. Last week I gifted a nurse at Kaiser, a dental office, and the nail lady!
